17th January 2015 Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 10 - 30 Surf / Sea State: head high sets Air Temperature: 3 Sea Temperature: 7 Weather: sun then rain Max Speed: Distance Covered: Dawn session on the 5.0 Elite for the first time. Nice light sail in the hands. Once up on the bar I could pick waves up by yellow bar and style some long board riding with big cutbacks. On same wave bit further in it got more critical in the 'pit'. Jacked up to head high, take the drop and enough time for 2 or 3 turns and then possible to get out the back without ending up on kite beach. Great fun. After little while wind picked to 30 knots and rained. Fully planing on the SUP was actually a bit out of control. Called it a day as hands were nor frozen! Cold start with ice on van and boots were frozen too! |
